Privacy Policy

Locale is an early-stage product by Padding Labs LLC. Right now the only thing we collect is the email address you choose to give us when joining the waitlist. This page explains exactly what we do with it.
Who we are
“Locale” (this site, locale.at) is operated by Padding Labs LLC (“we”, “us”). For any privacy question or request, email scan@paddinglabs.com.
What we collect
When you join the waitlist, we collect:
- Your email address, which you enter into the waitlist form.
- Basic technical data that any web server receives with a request (such as your IP address and browser user-agent). We don’t use it to build a profile of you, and we don’t combine it with your email.
We do not use advertising trackers, third-party analytics cookies, or social pixels on this site.
Why we collect it, and our legal basis
We use your email for one purpose: to send you a confirmation message, and then a single notification when early access to Locale opens. The legal basis is your consent, which you give by submitting the form and confirming via the link we email you. You can withdraw it at any time (see “Your choices” below).
The double opt-in
After you submit the form, we email you a confirmation link. Your address is only added to the active waitlist once you click it. If you never confirm, your unconfirmed entry is removed automatically and you hear nothing further.
Who processes your data
We rely on a small number of service providers to run the waitlist:
- Email delivery — confirmation and notification emails are sent through the Atmos (Comail) email API, which processes your address solely to deliver our messages.
- Storage — your address is stored in a Redis database hosted by our infrastructure provider, used only to manage the waitlist.
We never sell your data or share it for anyone else’s marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep your email until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until the waitlist is closed out after launch — whichever comes first. Unconfirmed entries are discarded shortly after sign-up.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe anytime. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link that removes you immediately.
- Access or delete your data. Email scan@paddinglabs.com and we’ll confirm what we hold and delete it on request.
- Depending on where you live (e.g. the EEA, UK, or California), you may have additional rights to access, correct, port, or object to the processing of your data. We honor those requests at the same address.
Children
Locale isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we’ll update this page and the “last updated” date above. Material changes affecting people already on the waitlist will be communicated by email.
